They were endangered because they were being killed for their blubber

Some of the reasons were that their habitats were destroyed or made unfit to live in, and they were hunted for their fur and blubber. Some reasons why they might not be endangered anymore is because humans started to care about of the enviornment and the elephant seals, so they started to save them.

One reason they went extint, or almost extinct, was because sealers wanted their bubbler. This could be made into oil. They are easy prey because of how big and "clumsy" they were.

They might of set a restriction for killing them, like a law, but I have no clue really...

One of the reasons for this endangered state was because the elephant seals were hunted, and they are no longer endangered due to the Mexican goverment.

I think that the trash and pollution have effected the population. Also, the humans hunting them have effected them.

The elephant seals were endangered because of pollution and being killed for there blubber. People started to save them by making state parks where you can't touch them, just observe.
