People were harming the seals for things they could sell such as their skin. To protect them we can put in laws that you are not allowed to hunt them

The elephant seals are fat so they have a lot of blubber that is very thiccccc and warm so people found out about this and in order to stay warm they would kill the beautiful elephant seals. They did not deserve any of this.

the reason elephant seals have become endangered is because hunters started killing them for their warm blubber. Its population began to increase in the 1900s when some people from Mexico protected the surviving elephant seals. Our knowledge for this can help other endangered species because we can make PSAs about this problem and try our best to protect them.

They were eaten by whales. this made the whales have more blubber. then the whales would get killed for their very valuable blubber.

The elephant seals were hunted for their blubber which was used to make oil. This was after whales numbers were decreasing. This problem was resolved when more elephant seals were found and people made the effort to protect them and sanctuaries were made like the field trip we went on. They are monitored and kept safe. You can compare this to other animals such as whales and sharks who were hunted for things they have. This relates to both marine and land animals.

The seals were probably hunted by us way too much, and our trash and pollution infected their waters. There were already predators hunting the seals for food, but the pollution and human hunting threw the food chain off. This was reversed when we put laws into place, preventing us from doing things such as littering and hunting them too much (if at all). We can learn from this for other animals by putting protective laws in place to help endangered animals.

The seals were probably getting hunted and pollution could have infected the water that could have prevented them from going in the water. How the situations turned around is people have started to recycle and people started to litter less people are still littering but not as much. And people have stooped hunting seals and have started to save most of them instead I don't know much people that hunt for seals now and days. How we can apply the knowledge gained from this to another populations is by recycling more and thinking of animals as much as you think of yourself and pollution can also effect you not just animals. Think of seals as your friends.
