In the Central Valley, we are in a prolonged drought and have had a tremendous shortage of rain. Now that it is the rainy season again, we have water coming from the sky that could be used, if we could only gather and save it. What inexpensive way can you think of to gather, store and be able to use the rain water.
When answering, consider: keeping the water fresh for months at a time, mosquitoes, how much water would actually make an impact on a typical household.

I think you can store it by using containers and you can use it like when there is a drought you can water your plants so they don't dry and die.

You Can put buckets or containers outside and when you get water you can take it inside and put it in the freezer and when you need water you can melt it and put it in your plants or you can drink it by yourself.

You can collect rain water in plastic containers. Then, boil the water to make it purified.

You can put water in jars and save it and you will have water when there is a drought.
